Bocci Refreshes 28 Lighting Series with New Colourways

From radiant floor lights and glowing table lamps, to bright overhead pendant clusters and armatures, Canadian design and research studio Bocci presents the elegant silhouettes of the 28 collection in a new spectrum of soft, pastel shades.

Recently expanded to include understated hues of Opaque Pink (pictured below - 6), Purple (1), Blue (8), Opaque Green (4), and Orange (3), 28 results from an innovative fabrication process that manipulates both the temperature and the direction of air flow into blown glass. The result is a slightly distorted sphere with an interior landscape of satellite shapes, including an opaque milk glass diffuser that houses either a low-voltage xenon or LED lamp.

Celebrating new beginnings and looking to the future, the new additions add a joyful, optimistic inflection to the series. Every single Bocci product is handmade, with each pendant variously blown, poured, carved, polished, packed and dispatched directly from their Vancouver base. As such, no two products are identical; they are individual, irregular, and unique expressions of evolving research.

  • The stainless steel 28 Armature system (pictured below - 2), in a soft-touch matte black finish, allows pre-composed branches to be easily connected to a series of hubs during installation.
  • 28 Random (3) is suspended using coaxial cable and composed in ambient groupings.
  • 28 Cluster (1) is suspended using coaxial cable and composed in hexagonal clusters in numerous configurations.
  • The flexible 28 Copper suspension option (in natural copper and white powder coat) is available for all 28 pendants, providing a different compositional reading and a range of sculptural forms.
  • The 28 Semi-Rigid is a flexible suspension system enabling pendants to be nestled in close-knit groups or loosely composed in a wider field, allowing each piece to be perceived individually.
  • The 28 Stem system (8) is available in un-lacquered brass or matte black with a variety of applications. The system allows for floor, ceiling-mounted or columnal installation. Floor and column versions can be plugged into a wall outlet and include an integral dimming system housed within a sleek brass cylinder.
  • 28 series pendants can be used within the 28 Table Light hardware (6), which includes an integral dimming system housed within a sleek brass cylinder. The black fabric cord is semi-rigid and may be sculpted to add form. The brass stand has a small notch on the underside, allowing it to be hung on a wall if desired.
